An emotional tale of love and loss, PERSONAL EFFECTS stars Ashton Kutcher and Michelle Pfeiffer as strangers who connect as they await verdicts on crimes that shattered their lives. Reeling from the death of his sister, Andrew (Kutcher) abandons his athletic career to haunt the courthouse corridors in his hometown, paralyzed by his desire for vengeance. He soon finds Linda (Pfeiffer), a recent widow trapped in similar stasis: undone by grief, she is unable to help her developmentally challenged son cope with his own raging anger. Over time, the pair begins to share their burdens between them, helping one another navigate the painful process of moving on.
